An important facet of the club since 1950, the club's speedskating program has proudly produced one of America's most decorated female athletes of all times, speedskater and multi-medalist Olympian, Sheila Young, as well as Olympic medalist speedskater John Coyle.

Aimed at skaters of all ages and skill levels, the program concentrates on technique, speed work, races and lots of fun!

WSC is also proud to be represented by Andrew Astalos, a multiple time National and North American Long and Short Track Champion since he began skating at 7 years old.  Focusing solely on Sprint Long Track, he is now a 3x member of the U.S. Long Track Jr. World Team and ranks in the top 5 in the world for his age class in each of the sprint distances.

Why skate with the WSC???

Because our goal is to have FUN while teaching proper speedskating technique, discipline, self-motivation, dedication, leadership, team-building and sportsmanship.

Many of our skaters are not only children, but their parents, too.  Those family members who do not skate are invited to participate in club activities, making speedskating a family affair and a shared sporting pastime.
